Failure and Creativity

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingForeword/postscript

Abstract

The fear of failure is one of the biggest obstacles in moving forward with creative work. People need to be supported in anticipating and working through creative failures. Failures open up broad horizons of creative possibility by indicating that additional thought and action are needed to move forward. Although creativity is risky, it can be viewed as a beautiful risk because even if our efforts do not work out, we can still learn from them as we strive to make a creative contribution.
