Abstract

The IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI) was held in Beijing, China, at the Beijing International Convention Center from July 6-11, 2014. IEEE WCCI 2014 engaged in crossfertilization among the three big areas of computational intelligence and provided a stimulating forum for scientists, engineers, educators, and students from all over the world to come together, discuss, and present their research findings. Papers covered a huge spectrum of research topics in computational intelligence, spanning from the fields of neural networks and machine learning to fuzzy systems and evolutionary computation. The event witnessed twelve brilliant invited speeches by a group of world-renowned speakers. The event also witnessed five very interesting panel discussions on a range of topics including brain research, big data and machine learning, evolutionary multi-criterion optimization, computational intelligence related research funding, and publications.
