Abstract
We present a detailed multi-wavelength analysis of the optically dark X-Ray Flash (XRF) 040912 detected by the HETE-2 satellite. We measured the redshift of the likely host galaxy at z = 1.563 ± 0.001 and we estimated the burst energetics and the intrinsic spectral properties. We then used the currently available sample of XRFs with known distance to discuss the connection between XRFs and classical Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs).
