Abstract
If a fault tolerant database is implemented on a LAN (local area network) the LAN architecture should be fault tolerant. The de Bruijin graph, which is known to have this property, is considered for LAN architecture. In view of current wavelength division multiplexing technologies in fiber optical cables, such complex logical architectures are quite feasible for LANs. It is shown that in LANs based on such architectures, distributed query processing and multiple query processing are possible. Another advantage is that these algorithms are robust and can tolerate edge failures.
