Abstract
Two point space time pressure velocity correlations were measured in the near field of a round jet flow with a stationary velocity probe and a moving pressure transducer. The correlations show the downstream translation of vortices. The physical mechanisms responsible for the behaviour of the correlation are identified. Conditional averages of pressure fluctuations given the state of the velocity fluctuation are also obtained. A linear estimation model, which utilizes the space time correlations to estimate the conditional averages, agrees very well with the measured data. (A)
