Abstract
We propose a single-port, two-dimensional dynamic metasurface aperture capable of generating a multitude of distinct illumination patterns at microwave frequencies. The proposed device consists of a printed cavity, with the upper conducting surface patterned with independently tunable metamaterial elements. We present numerical simulations demonstrating the operation of the proposed device in computational microwave imaging. We also investigate parameters influencing its performance and discuss its potential advantages over other devices used for computational microwave imaging.
