These sadnesses cannot be sorted as separate phenomena except only in a categorical sense. These are closely associated to the following cluster of factors: 1. Foreign born nativity, non-English language dominance, low educational attainment, and low income closely associated with lack of educational attainment 2. Negative work and environmental selective factors such as physical stress and environmental contamination, and lack of protective mechanisms such as insurance and medical coverage 3. Gender associated roles and accompanying mental distress, cultural and social dislocation because of migration, self-denial, identity contradictions, ethnic psychocultural conflicts, and lack of positive role models 4. Certain types of addictive behaviors such as alcoholism and drug dependence.
