Abstract
The study of permanent electric dipole moments of alkaline earth monohalides was analyzed using optical Stark spectroscopy. Investigations show that the decrease in μ upon excitation to the A 2II state was consistent with alkaline earth monovalent molecules. The appearance of electric-field-induced transitions in the high resolution laser-induced fluorescence spectra was also analyzed to produce values of the permanent electric dipole moments. The results show that error in μ(X 2σ +) could be reduced in an optical Stark study of CaD.
