The application of quantum phenomena in biology is discussed. The scientists believe that life has emerged from the ferment of the quantum molecular world. It has been proven that the key to life lay with its molecular structure and the information content of genes is encoded in the complex atomic rearrangement of large molecules. It is pointed that quantum physics relies on the wave nature of matter. All waves are characterized by an amplitude and a phase; the phase of the wave is a measure of where it is in its cycle of oscillation.
