Before investigating specific aspects and geographically unique features of cross-border co-operation in international tourism, it is important to understand the importance of researching and closely defining the relationship between borders and tourism. These detailed case studies and research reports on individual trans-frontier nature parks that are situated all over the world and discussed in their geographic contexts. More profound discussions, introducing current literature available on the emerging phenomenon of cross-border shopping and the particular dependencies evident in microstates and remote island nations, that concentrates on particular aspects surfacing when investigating cross-border cooperation in international tourism industries. Cross-border co-operation are advised to make use of the snowball effect: most titles and articles listed offer various types of extended references themselves, enabling the reader to multiply or even hyphenate the possible resources for investigation into the desired field of interest.
