Abstract
Mass spectrometric immunoassay approaches were used for rapid apolipoprotein phenotyping. Affinity pipettes were prepared by immobilizing a specific anti-apolipoprotein antibody onto a small-volume porous frit fitted at the entrance of a wide bore P200 pipette tip. The samples were incubated against the affinity pipettes by repetitively drawing the samples through the pipettes. The proteins captured in the affinity pipettes were eluted onto MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry (MS) targets using acidified MALDI matrix solution.
