Abstract

The parks and recreation system in both Canada and the USA is very much dependent on the prevailing public policy of their governments. Hence this study was carried out to develop an understanding of the forces that contribute to or detract from the parks and recreation movement's effectiveness in shaping policy. A questionnaire was used to solicit a description of parks and recreation professionals' advocacy behaviour outside their job.-after Author
