Abstract
The projected growth in the number of older adults, combined with the ageassociated increase in chronic diseases and disability, poses major health, economic, and social challenges to both developed and developing nations. These factors combined with the well-documented benefits of physical activity, even into old age, underscore the importance of studying physical activity and aging.
