Abstract
This copyrighted software provides a means to differentiate "good" manufactured parts (those of acceptable quality) from "bad" ones (parts which should be rejected) by comparing the vibration signature of a target part to those of a series of parts known to be good. The technique relies on the measurement of the excitation and the structural dynamic response of the parts, and is thus nondestructive. The time histories of the excitation and dynamic response of a set of known good parts are used to obtain an exogenous autoregressive (ARX) model of the part in question. Using this comparison, any part which falls a certain threshold away from the known good parameters can be rejected.
