Abstract
A time-varying convergence factor mu is proposed for the frequency-domain least mean square (LMS) adaptive algorithm, which results in a new algorithm, the frequency-domain optimum block algorithm (FOBA). The FOBA is actually the frequency-domain implementation of the recently proposed time-domain optimum block algorithm. This implementation results in computational savings in comparison with the OBA and performance enhancement relative to the frequency-domain LMS algorithm.
