Abstract
The authors treat in greater detail a portion of the zone of complexes described by Banks (preceding abstract). Various rocks within the Santa Catalina-Rincon-Tortolita crystalline complex can be correlated with rocks inside and locally outside the complex by field relations and lithological, trace-element, and isotopic analyses. Deformed Precambrian, Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, and Cainozoic rocks all occur within the complex, but its geology is dominated by a series of (?)Late Cretaceous to Middle Tertiary plutonic and deformational episodes. There is a 6-page appendix on nomenclature for the plutonic rocks of the complex.A.P.
