Abstract

In Fig. 5, the transcription initiation site (+1) was mislabeled as an “A.” It is properly labeled as a “T.” Additionally, in Page 5 of the Results and discussion section it states “A complementary DNA product was detected in a total RNA sample isolated from 33277 wild-type strain (Fig. 5A, lane 2), indicating that a porT transcription was initiated from the adenosine located in the 44-nt upstream of the open reading frame (illustrated in Fig. 5B, referred to as +1).” The “adenosine” should properly be identified as a “thymidine” in the text.
