Abstract
A single-step method to efficiently attach silver nanoparticles onto the surface of N-doped carbon nanotubes is discussed. N-doped multiwalled carbon nanotubes were obtained by aerosol thermolysis of solutions of ferrocene in benzylamine at 850° in an Ar atmosphere. Pure carbon MWNT were produced by using solutions of ferrocene in toulene during thermolysis. The result shows that carbon nanotubes exhibit a more uniform coverage with silver particles when compared to undoped nanotubes.
