N2 - This paper proposes an integration of task modeling and object-oriented analysis approaches. We argue that task-based approaches are more appropriate to analyze existing working situations and to elicit user needs. In subsequent stages like design and implementation, an object-oriented approach is warranted since most of the developer's skills, techniques, and tools are better matched to object-oriented representations. We show that such amalgamation, when supported by systematic transformation from a goal- and action-oriented perspective to "thinking in objects", can have several advantages for both approaches.
