Abstract
Superstrate loading techniques for gain enhancement and beam shaping are applied to cavity-backed patch antennas. Resonant gain techniques utilizing superstrates with both dielectric and magnetic properties are studied. The effect of truncation of material layers in the transverse dimension is discussed. The investigation is conducted using an extensively validated software package that is based on the spectral-domain method of moments (MoM) approach.
