The distinct functional roles in a complex network played by different nodes in a scale free network was discussed. A concept of betweenness of a node was used which is the total number of optimal paths between pairs of nodes passing through a node. The weight of a node was assigned as a random number on the basis of which the weights of links were defined. It was observed that for a nonweighted scale free network the betweenness becomes significantly larger when the network parameter was increased.
