Abstract
Presentation of Case A 40-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of epigastric pain and an intrahepatic mass. She was well until five years earlier, when epigastric pain developed. She was seen at another facility, where an upper gastrointestinal series and an x-ray film of the chest were reported to be normal. An ultrasonographic examination of the abdomen was said to show hepatosplenomegaly. The patient improved and became lost to follow-up examination. Thereafter she was well until eight days before admission, when epigastric pain recurred, with a sensation of “fullness” that radiated to the right side of the back,.
