Abstract
In geophysical tomography, the selection of the algorithm to perform the inversion and the filter to enhance the identification of the anomaly plays a vital role. Five different versions of the algebraic reconstruction algorithm (ART) were examined, and it was found that the modified distance transposed ART (MDT-ART) performed the best. Six different filters were investigated for anomaly identification enhancement, and it was concluded that minimum variance partition (MVP) type filters provided better results. Of these, the average form of the MVP, designated as MVP-AVG, seemed to best identify the anomaly.
