Abstract

An iterative procedure for solving the load flow problem for radial distribution feeders is described. The method is termed the 'scan and iterate' approach. The method is analyzed for convergence. An application to solving radial distribution feeders with shunt capacitors is described and illustrated. A novel graphic user interface is described for the analysis of shunt capacitor placement and control along a radial primary distribution feeder.
