Description

A total of 55 study participants were each given a time-activity diary and a Hygrochron Temperature and Humidity iButton sensor. The iButtons were distributed with a plastic key fob attached and an option to wear the iButton attached to a lanyard or a caribiner. Participants were asked to wear the iButton during waking hours and to ensure the sensor was exposed to air while they were wearing it. During sleeping hours the study participants were asked to keep the iButton in the room with them while they slept, but not physically attached to them, so as to ensure data were not erroneous due to being under someone's body while they slept. Additionally, the study participants were asked to complete a time-activity diary when they wore the iButton. The time-activity diary was used to record time of day, location, activity level, cooling methods, and thermal comfort.
