Trends in development and publication of educational and psychological tests

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Examination of trends in new test development and in commercial publication of available tests shows that since 1977 a significant change has occurred in the proportion of tests published in the various categories. The most significant change was an increase in the number of personality tests, followed at some distance by an increase in general achievement tests. A substantial decline was observed in the number of new or revised vocational tests. These changes are traced to the demands of Public Law 94-142 and the proliferation of personality theories.
