Abstract

OLIMPO is a high resolution balloon-borne telescope. It will measure the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect in clusters of galaxies during a long-duration flight. OLIMPO will carry out a survey of 40 clusters in four frequency bands centered at 140, 220, 410 and 540 GHz. We describe here the OLIMPO instrument and its scientific goals.
