Abstract

The dynamical evolution of gaussian wave packets initiating on the soft wall and on the hard wall of an anharmonic potential of one degree of freedom is studied. In particular, it is found that the coherent-state representation (CSR) is a unique representation for monitoring the spreading, the breaking-up, and the regrouping (recurrence) of these wave packets.
