Abstract
In this paper, a small signal stability analysis of a recently developed controlled voltage source converter model, for use in large scale positive sequence time domain simulations, has been conducted. The state space model has first been developed at the device level and subsequently, the state space model of the system has been obtained. Further, the performance of the model to varying short circuit ratio at the point of connection has been investigated. The three machine nine bus WSCC equivalent system and a single converter infinite bus equivalent of the 18205 bus WECC system have been used to analyze the model stability.
