Abstract
Criticism of traditional regional planning is generally aimed at its 'macro' and inductive approach, its inflexibility and its neglect of regional disparities. Projects need to be integrated into an overall framework, with the emphasis on 'project scale planning' - a move the author notes is already afoot in the Third World. -M.Barrett
