Abstract
The increasing number of qualified minority students in college of engineering and applied sciences (CEAS) of Arizona state university (ASU) was discussed. The high school students were exposed to the diverse fields of engineering by the office of minority engineering programs (OMEP) in collaboration with the industry. The local industries have joined together with the education, government and labor to increase the transition of students from high school to college to employment. The ASU mathematics engineering science achievement (MESA) helped in recruiting secondary students and to explore computer science as an academic and professional career.
