Abstract

In this essay we consider the COVID-19 pandemic as an important pedagogical disruption. We reflect on our teaching in Asian Pacific American studies to discuss pedagogical challenges and learned lessons from attempting to enact a pedagogy of care in response to the pandemic in the spring semester of 2020. A critical pedagogical reflection is essential at this time of disruption, when we are all in need of inquiry that leads us toward hope and liberation, and away from reproducing forms of oppression.
