N2 - We discuss, within the framework of SU(2) × U(1) gauge theories, possible relationships between the new leptons and the old ones. The importance of the radiative decays U- → e-γ and U- → μ-γ in experimentally determining these relationships is stressed. Kinematics and signatures for these decays in colliding beam experiments are worked out. Several illustrative lepton models are presented and analyzed. In certain models the radiative decay may in fact be the dominant mode.
