Abstract
Presents a selection of current research in applied regional science, which places particular emphasis on illustrating the use of powerful model-based quantitative methodologies. A wide range of topics are unified by the theme of integration of spatial interaction, economic, econometric, and input-output models, and their use at different spatial scales. Following an introductory chapter there are three main sections: integration in urban, regional, and multi-regional models; interfacing input-output models with econometric and optimisation techniques; and the analysis of welfare aspects of government policies by means of integrated and multi-regional models. All papers are abstracted separately. -P.Hardiman
