Abstract

The method of covariant point-splitting is used to regularize the stress tensor for a massless spin one-half (neutrino) quantum field in an arbitrary two-dimensional space-time. A thermodynamic argument is used as a consistency check. The result shows that the physical part of the stress tensor is identical with that of the massless scalar field.
