Abstract
The views regarding the string theory are discussed. A scientific theory is a logically coherent and predictive system that has been tested against experiment or observation. It explains observable phenomena and make falsifiable prediction about them. The string enterprise is a broad set of mathematical concepts which have yet to be incorporated into a rigid theoretical structure that makes precise predictions. The label 'string theory' is actually an anachronism.
