N2 - The non-exponential time dependence of spiropyran ↔ merocyanine transformation in a co-polymer has been reinvestigated experimentally and analysed in terms of a dispersive first-order chemical reaction. Non-exponential dependence can be accounted for by a Gaussian distribution of activation energies whose width decreases with increasing temperature.
