Abstract

The principal topics discussed include the following: 1) Venus's planetary surface: geology, physical properties and the chemical composition of Venus's soil; 2) chemistry of Venus' clouds and the distribution of volatiles in outer planetary shells (S, Cl, Hg, Se, Te and As), 3) thermodynamic prediction of the mineral composition of Venus's surface rocks, 4) the inventories of chemically active volatiles and their cycle on Venus (N,C,S, water), and 5) atmospheric-lithospheric interaction: the evolutionary approach.-J.M.H.
