Sintered ferrous powder metallurgy (PM) components are replacing wrought alloys in many applications, owing to their low cost, high performance and ability to be processed to near-net shape. The fracture and fatigue behavior of these materials is very important. In this chapter the microstructure, tensile and fatigue behavior of sintered steels is reviewed.
