Abstract
The importance of engineering ethics as a part of engineering curricula to bridge the gap between technology and society is discussed. A lot of attempts are made in the US to foster engineering ethics education. Emphasis is given to broaden the engineering ethics so as to include the ethical implications of public policy issues of relevance to engineering like risk, product liability, sustainable development, globalization, health care and information technology. Case methods have become the most popular tool employed for teaching these ethics. The growth of the World Wide Web (WWW) is also being used to disseminate informations regarding engineering ethics.
