Abstract

The triplet states of cyclopentadiene, 1,3-cyclohexadiene, 1,3-cycloheptadiene, 1,3-cyclooctadiene and the acyclic compound tetramethyl-butadiene have been produced by pulse radiolysis and their triplet-triplet absorption spectra identified. These are the simplest olefinic systems for which such spectra have been recorded.
