Abstract

A novel approach for the fabrication of an all organic nano-scale cellular structure for containing liquid-based organic molecules that exhibit physical, mechanical and chemical properties suitable for electronic components such as thin film transistors, liquid crystal mixtures, polymer and small molecule materials used in light emitting devices and/or solar energy systems, or lighting devices. The preferred method claimed in this invention comprises self-assembly of molecular building blocks such as nucleic acids, and preferably DNA molecules, but also proteins and organic nanowires.
