Abstract
Roots of the cactus Peniocereus greggii have been found to contain sucrose, peniocerol, desoxyviperidone, viperidone, viperidinone, and β-sitosterol. Two other sterols, which may be artifacts arising from desoxyviperidone, were also isolated.
