Analytical approximations to the self-similar global texture metric

Abstract

We find approximate analytical solutions for the line element and the scalar field of a self-similar global texture by considering the full Einstein and field equations. The metric, when written in comoving coordinates, extends the weak-field solution and leads to the density perturbations due to a global texture.
