Abstract
A new occurrence of a near end-member di,dioctahedral Al-chlorite, consisting of two dioctahedral layers, is described as a hydration reaction product of andalusite from pegmatite at Szabo Bluff, Scott Glacier, Antarctica. Analysis of the chlorite gave SiO2 32.23, Al2O3 53.06, Fe2O3 1.06, H2O 13.65, = 100.00, leading to the formula Al4.32Fe0.07(Si2.83Al1.17)O10(OH)8, i.e. donbassite.-R.A.H.
