Abstract
A timevarying convergence factor μ is proposed for the frequency-domain LMS adaptive algorithm, which results in the new frequency-domain optimal block algorithm (FOBA). The FOBA is the frequency-domain implementation of the recently proposed optimum block algorithm (OBA). The FOBA results in computational savings in comparison to the OBA and performance enhancement relative to the frequency-domain LMS algorithm.
