Arizona DNA Advocacy Project

The Arizona DNA Advocacy Project is a collaboration between many of the most experienced post-conviction lawyers in the state, with a goal of reviewing, investigating, and evaluating as many cases as possible over the next two years where DNA testing might show actual innocence, and making sure that appropriate cases get DNA tested. We will do this as cost-efficiently as possible by having the cases reviewed by faculty supervisors at the two nonprofit state law schools with experience in post-conviction practice and wrongful convictions. The supervisors will work closely with law students to review and investigate the cases. When necessary, we will also engage contract attorneys. Our nonprofit partner, the Arizona Justice Project, will contribute its vast experience and excellent reputation to generate case leads.
