Research interests
Jennet Kirkpatrick is Associate Professor of Political Science at the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Arizona State University.
Professor Kirkpatrick studies the political theory of resistance. She is the author of Uncivil Disobedience: Studies in Violence and Democratic Politics (Princeton University, 2008) and she has published articles in Political Theory, The Review of Politics, Dissent, Contemporary Political Theory, and Perspectives on Politics.
Her new research project, The Virtues of Exit, examines the practice of physically leaving as a signal of dissatisfaction or injustice.
In addition to her interest in resistance, Professor Kirkpatrick also teaches and writes about morality and politics and feminist theory. She earned her B.A. in Politics from Mount Holyoke College and her doctoral degree in Political Science from Rutgers University.
